5inch is a waste of money but looks good.

Re: 4 inch or 5 inch?

Like Soaggy said, might change the tone in it a bit with 5" and it does look cool but otherwise not going to be any "performance" gains because both of the options are straight pipes

Re: 4 inch or 5 inch?

I got 400 hp out of a stock muffler/3/5" tailpipe so why run a straight pipe? I think you may actually lose some torque using a very large exhaust system. Running full race exhaust systems on mildly modded trucks are not necessarily a good idea.

Re: 4 inch or 5 inch?

DOesn't your sig say " 4" duals " now?, maybe stock with a cat is too restrictive, but bone stock is not that bad, you get a really nice 3-6 foot straight exhaust plume out the side, the 5" is far less, I think there is nothign wrong with a 4" system, I would never try to up sell a guy to a 5" as it really think it is unecassary, even if I do have one myself.

Re: 4 inch or 5 inch?

Depends if you have to make up for your short commings? Cuz everybody wants that extra inch every so often, but they dont really need it, unless they drive a Duramax. Those trucks should have duel 6 inch stacks then.

Re: 4 inch or 5 inch?

4" duals was easy, the 4" downpipe install is going to kill me. Ummmmm, maybe that's because I got a box with a set of BDs in it, Terminator installed and a KASB/tapercore/heads being mailed out Monday from a Utah zipcode. Santa is making an early drop off this year. Now got to save up for that shortblock I want.

The old exhaust had gutted EBPV, downpipe, factory cat delete and the stock muffler with a Banks mandrel bent 3.5" tailpipe. The factory cat is THE restriction in the exhaust of a OBS truck. The factory muffler is a straight through design without much restriction. However, the restriction of the stock muffler probably is what keeps my 1.0 turbo (with 80k on it with stage IIs) alive when everyone else's took a dump. Re: 4 inch or 5 inch?

I can get you a great deal on a 4" Turbo back system.
