Can a 4R100 be put in a OBS truck? If so what needs to be changed, I assume the PCM but would that then cause a motor issue or could the current PCM work? Anything else any info is appreciated.
Jeremy, on the electronics side I think that the pulse width modulator in the 4r100 is controlled by the sd pcm...all the internal mechanical upgrades over the e4od work in our trucks, but the tail housing is different? Tail housing Is made from Steel instead of aluminum and has a hole for the speed sensor which can be pluged. other then that pretty much the same

Thanks Dave. The reason I ask is I have a freind w/ a 97' and needs a trans soon, I have a Suncoast w/ 4000 miles on it and it can't handle the power and I think they are gonna replace it and I may just sell mine to him and get me a BTS built for my new found power.
If its a 4wd the tailhousing is fine, just plug the oss hole. The iss hole will need to be plugged, the gear selector arm will need be changed along with the mlp sensor, the pump will need to be pulled and a transgo on/off lockup kit installed. If a 2wd the tailhousing will need to be swapped as well. Got a spare 4r100?
