5" Strait Pipe Question

I have been looking @ the shopdiesel.com 5" exhaust. I hear the tail pipe section off the super duty kit can be used on the 94-97 trucks. But am I on my own from there? Does anyone know if any other pieces from the 5" system work? I would just like it to look like a clean job. I know I will have to weld in a sleeve in place of the muffler but was hoping that would be it.

Re: 5" Strait Pipe Question

I got mine from a truck supply and thier kit was for a SD over the axle. No muffler, kitty, etc., no problem. Swamps gave me the number or company, I cant remember. Try a search.

Re: 5" Strait Pipe Question

I just installed a 5" straight pipe last month. It went very smooth. I used the shopdiesel over axle peice and picked up a 10ft section of 5" and the proper reducers from NAPA. It took about 4hrs to remove old exhaust till cleanup. Here are a couple pictures from the job, hopefully they will work, but I doubt they are 56k friendly.

Test Fit Axle Piece

I just installed my 5" tip from shopdiesel this last weekend, now it sounds and looks good.

ON EDIT: Welcome to the forum!

Re: 5" Strait Pipe Question

I did the exact same thing arcane did as he said not too bad of a job. The exhaust sounds really good, I get quite a few compliments on it! Once you do it you'll really like it!!
