6.0 in a OBS....NOT

well after a lot of compairing my 04 Ex with the 95 I have come to my senses . Getting the engine and trans to fit would be doable, granted it would take some fabing but nothing to bad the problem is useing my transfer case. That was a wake up to reality too many things envolved. If someone had a 2 wheel drive truck and blew the engine I think its something to take a hard look at. So now its time to get back on track and deside what mods are next in my search for 400hp

Re: 6.0 in a OBS....NOT

Are the SD T-cases that much different than the OBS?

Re: 6.0 in a OBS....NOT

the ones on the 6.0 are allot different, they have a shaft that goes in to the trans, the out put shaft of the tranny in on the t case.

Re: 6.0 in a OBS....NOT

Dont you think that if one found a two wheel 6.0 you could get a yoke put on the T-Case from his OBS and make a divoreced T-Case set-up?

Still sounds like alot of work to me though.

Re: 6.0 in a OBS....NOT

Why would you even consider doing that??? The 6.0 is clearly inferior to the cummins. If you wanted a modern repowered obs truck,, put a common rail cummins in it.

Re: 6.0 in a OBS....NOT

Or if you still wanted the 6oh, why wouldn't you just bring the 6oh t-case with it? It's still a driver's side drop right? That would be insanely simple would it not? Maybe make up some driveshafts and engine tranny mounts. Then all the little bs, like intercooler/radiator/computer harness routing. Seems pretty easy as far as engine swaps go. If you didn't have one with a T-case though that would be a raw deal. Unless you just got a t-case for it in a junkyard. I think this may be getting inadvertantly over-complicated.

And if you had to loose the t-case, go with a divorced 205 from a 70's f-250. I don't think you're gonna break it lol. There are a million answers to this. But by far the full swap, engine/tranny/t-case would be a cinch I would think. I know I've done some rough ones, and this seems pretty straight forward.

Maybe I'm just missing the bad part though, I dunno.
