My 94.5 was a 2wd dually ext cab 5 speed, the 97 is a 2wd dually 4 doors with a flatbed and an E4OD. Pulling the exact same load on the exact same hill my 94 would accelerate from 60 to 70 in 5th, while my 97 struggle to hang onto 60 in whichever gear the tranny is in at about 3,000 rpm. I know I can blame some of it on the extra weight of the 4 door and flatbed, but not all of it. Both had roughly the same miles on them (250k). Also really wish I had the 5 speed back. Auto trannies are for granny cars.

There are dozens of ways to get the HP you ask for. If all you want is HP and you want it now, get a Beans D66 and a set of 238/100 hybrids and tuning to run it for about $3K. That is 450 all day long. Now if you want the truck not to break, you need to upgrade the trans, install head studs, get an intercooler, fuel system, etc.....

Trans = John Wood
Fuel = Beans
HPOP = Send it to Terminator

So reliably what are you looking at price wise? trying to figure out if cummins or 7.3 would be cheaper and better to get power out of?!

A D66 isn't a good choice with Hybrids...its still a stock shaft and bearings..
