97 10.25 and 00 10.50 axles

could the hub assy off the 97 be put on the 00 axle so i could have my alcoas but still have the disc brakes? i know i would have to get the 99 E350 srw discs to have the correct pattern. the E350 rotors and F350 rotors are the same with the execption of the hole pattern.

i got a grenaded rear end and i want the disc brakes anyways.....

I'm not sure. I've been wondering the same thing. If I get ambitious and try it I'll let you know. If you figure anything out please pm me. I would think someone on here would know something, but sometimes it seems like if a post isn't about "blue cps" or something like that no one pays much attention. Just say something about "big oil" and see what happens.

Re: 97 10.25 and 00 10.50 axles

yeah thats exactly it say injectors, twin turbos, big oil and theres a feeding frenzy

well i think im gonna dive in on it. my carrier grended and destroyed the whole diff soo......

the E350 has the 8 on 6.5 pattern and the other dimensions of the rotor are exactly the same as the SD rotor. there was a guy that used all the SD parts for his rear brakes and it came out great. just the cost of all the ebrake parts and service brake parts gets expensive fast.

im hoping to put the hubs off the 97 on the 99+ axle and put the E350 rotors on, weld my 4 link and bag parts on the axle, get it back under the truck and call it a day.

oh dang one other thing to think of where is the VSS is it the same? i will have to look under the wifes rig tommorow if the drwy isnt a swamp or covered in snow in the mornin. dangit i was under that truck today putting rear brakes pads and shocks on it but then again i was in haul butt mode just wanted to get done. working on the truck in the gravel driveway sucks. F250 was in the garage.....

now i gotta find out if my maghytec will fit the 10.50 and find out about the yoke to see if its the same, i dont wanna have to work on the driveshaft till the ZF-6 goes in.

Re: 97 10.25 and 00 10.50 axles

The vss was fine and the maghytec cover worked. I can't say about the yokes, but Randy's Ring and Pinion treated me well when I had to buy a new 1350 yoke for my front D60. I'm sure they could fix you up for about 75 dollars.
