I have a 97 sc lb 250 PSD and I recently put a dana 60 under it. At the time i didn't know any better (lack of research) but i used the 250 springs and left the rear 250 blocks in. As you can imagine it rides teriable and even though it sits about level the rear could go up an inch or two. The rear springs are pretty much wore out I think since they are factory and hauled alot of loads (292,000 miles). I was wondering if there are different springs with different ratings like the super dutys have and what their part numbers are. I have the 4inch rear blocks. I was planning on all new springs and hoping i could get it sitting and rifing right. And hopefully not sitting to high (wouldlike to stay with 265s)
thanks for the info
Ted
Dought if they are worn out. It is s truck and it is going to ride like a truck.

I would think you would get a better ride out of the 1 ton front springs and wouldn't have to worry about the pumpkin hitting the crossmember. That and using the 4" blocks would make it sit as high as a 1 ton. A RSK would give you a better ride but also lift it about 3".

If you really want to go for a beter ride, go for SD front springs with a shackle reverse, and use SD rears. To use the SD rear springs, you have to drill out the holes for the spring eye bolts. Look for a guy lifting his Super Duty to get the springs. Do a search or check out CaryT, and several others for details.
Yes, springs do wear out. Also interleaf rust makes for a worse ride.
Also there are 3leaf and 5 leaf rear springs. My 96 F250 has 3 leafs in the rear plus the big bottom overload leaf. My 91 F250 has 5 leafs plus the bottom overload leaf.
I have also had sucess turning the bottom overload leaf over so it comes into effect later. I wouldn't do this if you haul heavy (unless you have air bags. It could make wheel hop worse, but I havent seen it (YET)

Ask Caryt or just go ride in a 99 to 04 Super Dooty. The rear springs help a little, but the big change is the front. The SD springs are 4" longer and thus more flexible.

The stock SD springs have about the same arch, but the process of putting on the brackets and reversing the shackle system so that the shackles are at the rear of the front springs where they work like they should raises the truck about 2.5 inches over the stock F350 hieght or 4 inches over the stock F250 hieght. Do a search on member caryt, and on shackle reverse. Cary has photos of the brackets etc. Go to offroadunlimited.com and skymfg.com (might not have the second one exactly right)You will learn how to set up out trucks where they ride very nicely.
