After market starter.....WOW!

Just installed this high torque starter from DB electrical:

...New starter...

here are some pics comparing the stocker 96 starter to the high tork:
Bigger is way better!

You can't believe how much faster it turns the motor! No more draggy cold starts. If mine were a hand shaker, I swear it could pull the truck down the road at 30 mph!

Great people to do business with. Brand new. Same day shipping. $20.00 bucks shipping anywhere. Follows up on the order by e-mail to see if your satisfied. hell of a product!

Re: After market starter.....WOW!

Thats the one I have. Mine started to act up so I emailed DB Electrical about it. They sent me a new one in three days no questions asked and even paid for me to send the old one back. WOW thats customer service! I had a new starter before the old one died!

Re: After market starter.....WOW!

That starter looks like it would really affect my payload capacity.

Re: After market starter.....WOW!

Dale, while spending 6 weeks in Milwaukee, It failed to start on me twice. Near o* degrees both times. It would grind down like low batteries, but they were good. The thick oil must have been to much for the old worn starter. Once was after sitting at the airport for 4 days. The other was after one night of forgetting to plug it up. Four Beers to many that night!! Batteries, glow plugs, and alternator checked out perfect. Had to be the starter being worn after 214,000 miles.

Re: After market starter.....WOW!

I installed mine a while back, too. Make sure you check the bolts! I checked mine last week, and the bottom bolt had backed itself out about an inch or so. Has anyone else seen this? I just got down there and ratcheted it back snug again and it hasn't moved.
