Re: air flow systems

I don't know why they wouldn't be. You may want to contact dale isley with tymar. Its going to be a few days before he gets back to you. He had a death in the family so he's away right now.

Re: air flow systems

Ok you can make your own intake quick. Just get an air filter from napa or IH. The IH part number is 1141 and the NAPA number is 6637. Pull off your air box and the clamp will connect to the filter just like where your airbox connects. Look at my pics. Now for exaust, i'd just go down to a muffler shop and they can make you any adaper you need. Thats what i did when i made a cat bypass the dodge truck i had.

Re: air flow systems

Mac filter. Soon to be replaced with an IH filter. I really want to figure out how to make a canister to take the IH filter made for these engines. The thing is the filter IH made for the T444E is so friggin huge i don't know where i'd put it. Their filter is about 2 to 3 times the size of that one.

Re: air flow systems

honestly the IH filter number i gave you, the filter only costs 20 or 30 bucks. That Mac filter has been on the truck for maybe a year. If you want it i'll sell it to you. Its pretty dirty, so i'm going to try cleaning it first and see what happens. I still want to go to a paper filter.

Re: air flow systems

The cleanable type filters are made from cotton. The guys down here in the OBS forum say not to use these cotton type filters b/c they can pass dust and such. My Mac filter is actually for a excursion. The Superduty guys are all running these cotton types of filters and don't seem to be having any problems. I haven't check my intake tube to see if its dirty or not, but i guess i should just for grins.

Re: air flow systems

Tim the thing is thsi" don't SEEM to have any problems" exactly right , they haven't got enough miles to have a problem yet, I personally love K&N's on every gas motor I own, includign teh ride-on lawn mower, hel even teh 3hp reel has one, I know I'm sick, but for the truck NEVER, EVER use a K&N, I have a windowed block for it, Use the Tymar style one only.
