Another Quick Chip Question

I currently have a superchips programmer and I have it on High Performance. I was looking for more power and considering going to a chip. I don't know what box code by truck has, does it make a difference? Also if i change injecters can the chip be reburned? If not, which chips can? I was looking on ebay and thought this looked like a good deal if it was right for my truck http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

Re: Another Quick Chip Question

I have the same thoughts these days also. I also run the SCMT on HI.PO. The only chip I would buy right now is the TS chip, a 4 or 6 position, on ebay I see them for $385 delivered. I don't know about the re-programing later, we'll wait for others to give advice on that.

Re: Another Quick Chip Question

Well your truck is most likely the tee4 or 5 code for the pcm.

The chip you linked to is a bullydog chip and can be reburned later, the only problem is, you won't be able to get a true custom burn from a Bullydog dealer, so you will have a very short list of people who can reburn it and put custom injector stuff on it.

Just so you will know, you prolly aren't gonna save that much money by buying a chip off ebay and then getting it burned by someone else, because by the time you buy the chip add shipping, ship it to the tuner, pay him for his time, and pay the shipping charges back, then you will be pretty close if not the same as if you call the particular dealer you want to reburn the chip and get it straight from them.

Re: Another Quick Chip Question

You can get a TS chip from BEANS and have custom burns, and yes you can have it reburned. You won't get full potential out of chip without modified injectors. Blackcloud also sells them with standard TS burns. There are a number of people or shops that can burn your chip, check the sponsor list................Dave

Give Tony Wildman a call 405-818-6365, he has some real good custom burns at a good price.

Re: Another Quick Chip Question

Re: Another Quick Chip Question

There are MANY folks on this site (some vendors, some not) who sell the TS 4 or 6 position chips. As mentioned, you won't see the full potential of the higher HP programs without adding injectors, BUT, you can have them on the chip, use the programs (or have a custom one burned for stock injectors, which will work up to about a 70 HP gain) and then use the higher programs when/if you decide in the future to add injectors!

As mentioned, there are many vendors on this site, or even TS themselves in which you can buy the chips from!
Tony Wildman is popular for those of us with the early Powerstrokes, and or even Jim (The_Alaskan) himself!
Jody Tipton tiptonj@charter.net can help you out with "custom" tuning of a chip, or off the shelf type programming if you wish! His chips are of the TS type design, and he is a programmer as well, so he can make the chip for however you wish to have it!

<font color="blue"> Black Cloud Diesel </font> sells the TS multi-position chips, as does <font color="blue"> TS Performance </font> themselves!

I also believe <font color="blue"> SWAMP DIESEL PERFORMANCE </font> .

Lots to choose from!

Dale
