A few people have made it work. VanAackenBros who post on another board have done a couple, but I think they decided it was more trouble than it was worth. I talked to them some about it, and here's a copy of what he told me:
"It moves more air than the factory for sure. spools up just as quick. a lot depends on where you have the vanes set. Boost numbers will probably be in the high 30's maybe higher. not really sure with your setup! You will like it on there! you will have to make up pipes for it, and the rest of the intercooler plumbing. basically everything has to be changed one way or another depending on where you mount it.
As for the electronics, you need something will put out a duty cycle signal to the solenoid. As you change the duty cycle that will determine where your vanes are set."
how hard is it to do that 1.00 housing? i wanna get some more power out of it too so would it be worth it doing the 1.00 and say stage 1s?

You can shim the FPR for cheap without buying the California regulator kit. Just use a BB or a 4-40 socket-head cap screw and get the pressure to about 75 psi at idle. Cheers!
I did the CA fpr kit on my '94 and kid's '97. Don't know that it added any kick, but percieved throttle response is better. Moreso in the '94 but might be due to the 4.10 gearing. I think I got the kits through powerstrokeshop.
so lets say i do the CA fpr kit and the 1.00 housing? seems like a good set up for a stock truck
