Anything like an x-monitor for an OBS?

Does anyone know about something similar to BD's x-monitor or the edge attitude monitor to get a digital display in the OBS?

Re: Anything like an x-monitor for an OBS?

Quadzilla makes on for our year powerstrokes. Its called the Recon. Comes with everything to monitor egt, tranny, eot, and other things. I might get one for my truck. I found a few for $200 shipped with all probes and wires.

Re: Anything like an x-monitor for an OBS?

Does anybody have either one of these on an OBS truck?
The website just lists 99 and up.

If you search it through the year specific search it will come up for 94-97 7.3L. I was concerned about that same thing until I found it listed specifically under those years.

Re: Anything like an x-monitor for an OBS?

You can use the BD X moniter with a universal dash mount for our trucks.

EGT, Tranny, and boost sensors are adaptable to just about any truck.

You just have to get universal mounts as most of the model specific pods or mounting options in the cab are for newer trucks.

The recon does not work with 94-97 and the commander has limited funtionality on 94-97. I emailed them.

Re: Anything like an x-monitor for an OBS?

Since when doesn't the recon work on the 94-97? You can pick them up all day on E-Bay and other diesel sites for the 94-97 powerstrokes, http://www.quadzillapower.com/products/1995.html

Re: Anything like an x-monitor for an OBS?

Here's what they said in the email:

Josh
The Recon will not work with the 95-97 PSD. It is not setup to read off these trucks accurately. The Commander will be setup for these trucks in the future but the Recon will not.

Re: Anything like an x-monitor for an OBS?

You are correct, the website does need to be explained better.

With either monitor the EGT and tranny sensors are seperate so they work fine. On the Commander the water temp is not accurate and on the Commander and Recon boost would not be accurate.

The Commader is updatable via USB and we do have updates coming out to add the 94-97 trucks to the menu so it works properly.

I doubt the current version of the Recon will be updated but, we are planning a USB version of the Recon and it will work on the 94-97 trucks when it comes out. The only problem now with the Recon is that is already holds so many vehicles that we are out of memory. It is pretty impressive we have as much as we do on that small of a part as it is!

I will keep you updated as to when this happens.

Re: Anything like an x-monitor for an OBS?

yeah if you could please, i am really after the ICP and fuel pressure as i am changing over to electric pump, i have a boost and pyro in the truck now, but if it can be less cluttered then i'm happy, what are the chances of a pillar mount for the commander?

Re: Anything like an x-monitor for an OBS?

The pillar mount is probably not going to happen but, the Commander does come with a universal mount. Not the greatest in the world but, it does work. Also the Commander is thin and pretty light and you can really get creative mounting it if you want to. There are plenty of place that it could easily go.

I am not promising anything yet but, this latest update that we should have out by friday might have the stuff to support 94-97 trucks including ICP and Fuel Pressure.
