Axle swap for my 97 TTB

I guess it is not feasible to get a 06 suspension for my 97.
Anybody know someone who can do an axle swap in the sacramento area?
I do not have the D60 yet..just trying to do research.
I want to put in a D60 but I do not have the confidence to do it myself.

Any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks

Re: Axle swap for my 97 TTB

Many people have done it themselves...I have watched one being done and it really isnt a hard job. If you get a D60 out of a ford it is a DIRECT bolt in. There are a lot of guys in the sac area that I am sure would be willing to help if you paid them in beer and diesel talk Sorry I don't know of anyone in the area to do the swap for ya but Im tellin ya, I think really could do it.

It really is a piece of cake to do. I did mine in 6 hours and i even had to pull parts off my TTB before i put the D60 in. Its all bolt on.

Re: Axle swap for my 97 TTB

OldRed,

Well what do you consider Sac area?? I am south of Sac. I have swapped 1 ton axles under my F-150. The swap for you truck if you have all the parts would not take but 6-8 hours. All you need to do is find the parts and I will be more than willing to give you a hand. I know the parts you will need are:
D60
track bar and mounting bracket
350 springs and rear blocks
new u-bolts
steering linkage??
drive line though you can drive home with out it

I think that is about it
Will

PS I will not be home till June so if you can wait till then.

Dont forget the brake calipers and brake lines since there are differences between types of brakes certain years. (Bolt on calipers versus the pin type..)
