I like this package deal from BDP 340 HP Package , and I can get the cash for it if i sell my dirtbike I was wondering what else is needed as far as trans work and engine work. I have a 5spd manual. Just the clutch, or more? The other thing is my truck has 133000 on it and would I need to have the tranny and Tcase rebuilt b4 adding that kind of power? How bout as far as the turbo goes? is the stock one ok? or would I need an upgrade? Also how bout internals, anything need upgrading there? Oh and I was thinking of an intercooler to go along with it. Would I be ok with my EGTs? I dont haul anything so its just the truck. (Reg cab long bed) If I decide to go this route I WILL give BDP a call and go over stuff I just want some prelim. opinions and advise and info.
Thanks guys

since ya got a manual shift all ya need for the tranny is a new "upgraded" clutch. unless your tranny or transfer is in rough shape they'll be fine, with the little bit of miles on them i'd bet there good. stock turbo will be fine, upgraded ones are always better though. stock internals are plenty strong enough, an intercooler will help with egt but not necassary. one other option that isn't necassary is a superduty hpop to help with the oil supply to the injectors.

Ok, sounds great. Will I need to upgrade the stock fuel system? And who makes a good turbo upgrade. Is that even neccessary. That kit makes 750lb ft. thats plenty for me. you say EGTs wont be a problem? Do you think I should get water injection?

From what I've gotten here, with that setup, water/intercooler won't be totally necessary unless you are more worried about EGT's (towing). As for the clutch the Con O would handle it fine but the OFE will support more power, gives more insurance with what you're going to do with your truck, plus leaves room in case you decide to do more later Someone else could probably say for sure but it sounds like having the stock HPOP, turbo, no intercooler, and a Con O would support this setup just fine, but if doing more mods these factors will start becoming a limitation.
You are just like me Stock truck, 5spd, don't tow, 340hp package on the way just because I really really wanted it
I already got about half of it though I don't even have all of it yet and I can already tell you, you WILL be happy! In theory this is all I plan to do to my truck... we'll see about that
edit: heck I could use a new bench seat too!

Your turbo may "work" at 340hp but it won't be working very well and will be makeing a ton of heat which will make wors your EGT problems. As long as you don't plan on keeping your foot in it for any length of time EGTs will be fine. If you have your foot in it for very long I would be willing to be your EGTs will climb well over the 1400 mark. If you want it to be a good solid reliable 340hp I'd go with an intercooler and a turbo such as the HT or BB. Either one should make it a very nice driveable power curve that should spool up real nice. You could go with something like the H2E but it will probably spool a little slower. The cost is probably going to be pretty comperable between any of the systems unless you can find all the '99.5 parts to make the HT or BB turbo work for cheap used somewhere. All your internal engine parts should be just fine at that power level. Your fuel system will be lacking most likely though. Your pressure probably won't drop horribly but enough that you should do some upgrades.
RyanPSD, you say you are getting the 340? Did you get it as a package? or each part separate? And are you leaving the other stuff stock? like tranny (except clutch) turbo, fuel system, no I/C?
Also, GTS what are those turbos off? are they from a 99.5 superduty or are they aftermarket?

Not sure what I'm getting yet. I only have the intake and exhaust actually in my truck, the clutch kit is sitting in the garage at the moment, still waiting on the rest which is where the real power is gonna come from
But yeah I got it as the package (w/o gauges), and the clutch and a new PCM extra (I only needed the PCM since I have a CA model truck with split shot injectors, going to singles)
I don't plan on upgrading anything else, the tranny should hold well, and the stock HPOP, turbo and fuel systems I think will take these fine until I expect to get even more power. Then I think these will for sure have to be upgraded.

Give Dyno-Mite Diesel a call. They sell the HT turbo. Their number is 866-774-3966. You can get ahold of Hypermax for the H2E kit.
Tubzz, I didn't mean that the H2E couldn't be spooled just fine. However the BB and HT will most likely spool a bit faster makeing for better throttle response. It all depends on how you want the truck to run and how much power you want etc.
