Boost

For a basic stock truck, whats the purpose of monitoring boost? I understand having guages for EGT and transmission temps, but why boost?

Re: Boost

Its just fun to look at! Plus it gives you an idea of how much performance you gain when you start doing mods and such.

For me it's just another indicator to tell when things are normal or not. Cheers!

Re: Boost

I agree with BOTH of the above posts...It is fun to look at and can show you if there is a problem in your exhaust/turbo system like a leak etc...

Re: Boost

Thanks guys. I kinda figured that was the deal. I really dont plan on doing a bunch of mods. Just put in a new dp this past weekend ( thank God for potra powers!) Fixin to order an authentic TYMAR intake and plan on Jody putting in a chip. After that the only power upgrades will be when the original stuff breaks.

Re: Boost

I installed my pyro and boost gauge pre mods. At one point I noticed less boost then before. After many discussions with Ford they covered a couple injectors.

Ran fine, but they were not fueling they way they should have. Never would have noticed without the gauge there.
