the line running from the intake "y" over to the map sensor, looking at the motor will be on the left center of motor and runs to the firewall "between" the ac stuff and motor to a sensor with an electrical plug and rubber hose attached to it, the rubber hose is where u need to tap.

I would go with the option that sellwithsam shows. I tapped into the map sensor hose and I had problems with it, and I have been told that it can interfere with readings to the map sensor. Little more work, but its worth it. JMO.

My 97 had the map sensor/boost gauge line coming off of the passenger side intake plenum neck. I used this with no problems with and without an intercooler. I now have the msp and boost pressure lines tapped into the turbo outlet to the intercooler to check response pre-intercooler. Doesn't seem to be any difference in engine performance, map operation or boost gauge function compared to the stock plenum tap.
Yes. My boost gauge from Westach came with an NPT/barb fitting, so I simply tapped into the manifold (AFTER I put material inside to catch drill and tap shavings). The hose is covered with loom and routed to gauge. Seems the fastest and easiest to me...
You should put it where ever you decide it works best for you. Sometimes that is dictated by the parts you receive with gauge.
Otherwise, I usually decide these things based upon my investigation of how other guys have done it and how it worked out for them.
