Hey guys I was just wondering what the best chip would be to push high HP numbers on a 96 Powerstroke? thanks a lot guys!

get a ts chip from tony at total diesel performance or on from brians truck shop.

Well the problem your going to run into is the stock injectors can only flow about 80 to a hundred horse over stock. the cfm range for them is too low. So you could put a chip thats designed for 140 hp on your truck, but your probably only gonna see more like 80 hp increase. If you want to go larger on the injectors, you can but you will be limited before you have to go and install a hi performance oil pump. Swamps and rosewood diesel both make very nice injector setups that are mild enough to be run with a stock pump. So to answer your question, you can put just about any chip on your truck, be it edge, bully dog, banks, hypertech, or any of the other programmers, and see about 80 to 100 hp increase. Or you could go the route of a multi position chip like TW performance, Swamps, or any other multi chip. These are nice because you can install one on a stock or mild modified truck and run it untill you start installing more mods (injectors, hpop, intercooler, turbo, or anything else) and you can pull the chip, send it back to the manufacturer and have them reprogram your chip to the mods you have done. Unlike a tuner where you are basically stuck with what you have.

No all these truck Inj can get is 50-60HP period.

i would go with the injectors not much difference in money but will get more with no mods to truck than a chip

Have you done anything to your truck, or is it all stock? Your sig is empty. Depending on what you want to do, start with a DP the stock one is junk and restrictive. Then and gauges with your chip. But you will not see a big increase until you get bigger injectors

Call Dave @ swamps he can set you up. If you tow much be sure to tell them he has a kick butt tune for towing.

Lol that question is like taking 50 guys in a bar and asking them ford chevy or dodge. Your gonna get a bunch of different responses. Some guys like swamps, sume guys like beans. there are a few different manufacturers out there.

Deciding what stage to go with is easy if you figure out what you want your end result to be. Stage 1's are a noticible difference over stock and stage 2's are a noticible difference over 1's. Pretty much all dpends on what you want your hp at in the end and how deep your pockets are

lol i know how ya feel. ma and a buddy of mine are just starting a diesel shop here. gonna try and get into big mods and stuff. Next time ur over this way, send me a pm, we'll grab a beer or somethin
