The injectors have nothing to do with it really. You need an different thermostat if you want more heat. Another helper is does your ebpv work? I gutted mine, am glad I did, but it takes 8 years of highway driving to warm it up. The stock thermostats are rated at 192 or so, that is at full flow, so in reality they start to open around 160 or 170. Dieselsite has 203* thermostats that do a better job of keeping you warm. Our cooling systems also bypass flow quite a bit of coolant when the thermostat isn't even open, unless you are pulling a load, that flow is enough to keep it cool enough to not open the thermostat for a long time. I have the same problem, just haven't ordered a thermostat, as I am trying to sell my truck, so don't wanna mess with it if I sell it. The best thing I can do is plug it in, the block heater does a bang up job of getting it up close to op temps. My cold weather starting is top notch, never had a problem starting in cold weather, esp since the sd starter, new gps and a stancor, the block heater just helps warm it up a bit, as a bonus if you leave it on defrost it puts off enough heat to thaw the windshield too.

On a side note, the only difference I have with stage ones and cold weather is holy crap does it run when its cold out, makes me think I need an intercooler. And with the straight pipe, no ebpv, and stage 1s, it smokes like a freight train sitting in the driveway when its cold out. Oh well, its a diesel, semis do the same thing when its cold out.

with that said mine smokes too and i think this is why it is cooler and harder to warm up i have my ebpv disconnected not gutted cause i cant get the damn thing warm enough to keep it off while driving i have thought of a 203 tstat but i would have to get rid of it in the summer though

Why would you have to get rid of it in the summer. It is full open at 203, stock is full open around 192, no much difference. Typically, our trucks have no trouble at all staying cool even when its hot out and you have the ac on.

Yeah, I cant get any heat out of mine either. I've got the lund solid grille insets and cardborad blocking off pretty much all of the rad. My truck also smokes lots for the first ten minutes then just settles down to a blue haze (with the AIC on charge protect). After its been driven for a little bit the blue smoke disappears.

I put in one of the Dieselsite's 203* t-stats this fall. Works good, factory temperature gauge points straight up once you have driven a bit. I have no cardboard or grill inserts.

I also put on my plumbers cap and rigged up some rear foot heat for my complaining sledding buds in the back seat.

Check your thermostat, you may need a new one. A good stock one will work fine. BTW the temp ratings are STO (start to open) temps. Make sure you get one the right length or it can bypass too much coolant and make the engine overheat. One other thing you might check that might make your heater work better. Does your truck have a Y at the heater hose on the front of the pass head? If it does you can block or restrict the hose returning to the radiator.

What he says, if you have the rad blocked off and its still cold replace the tstat, its gotta be stuck open.

Hmmm it might be worth trying a 203* t-stat. I just bought a new one from IH about a week ago thinking my stat was stuck open. It made no diff.

Well I could be wrong but I dont think there is a IH# for your year of truck. In 96' they changed the water pump the 94.5 and the 95's had the 203* stat I believe. I have the dieselsite 203 and have hauled 14K over a very steep pass at 90*+ with notemp issues.
Good luck.

A fellow I work with that used to work at Ford on the diesel trucks said they used to get the 203* t-stats from John Deere. He can't remember exactly what machine they were for except they'd buy them by the box to cure customers complaints of low gauge readings in the winter time. Wish I'd talked to him sooner before buying another original t-stat with the same problem LOL. I guess if someone were to go John Deere and have the parts guys do a similar parts search for a 203* thermostat that measured 65mm in diameter they'd be able to find one?
