Me and my buddy started at 8am on Sat. Had access to a lift but really didn't need, did everything on jack stands.
Took the POS D50 out in 2hrs. Probably the most hardest thing to do was taking out the old brackets near the oil pan. Everything pretty much well except for a few things.
1st snag. When I got the D60 from the donor vehicle, I also got the sway bar and related hardware. There were no holes in the frame for the end link brackets that go on the frame. Did alittle marking and drilling the brackets went on. Did any one else run into this before?
2nd snag. I also got the front driveshaft with the CV joint. But there was one problem, it was about 1.5' shorter than the D50 one. I did not pay attention to the donor truck but if that truck was a stick, would that be the reason the short driveshaft? I also took the front yoke from the TC and the diameter of the splines were smaller than my TC. The tag on my TC says its a 4407. I left the drive shaft out for now so I can bring to the driveshaft shop.
Other than the above problems everything went pretty smooth. Those D50 front leafs are thicker than the F350 ones. I also changed the rear springs also. Went with a 5 pack rather than the stock 4 pack. If anyone is thinking about changing out the rear springs, buy new shackles before tackling the job. I put urethane bushings everywhere and getting the old rubber bushings out of the shackle was a PITA. And they were rusted bad.
Few questions for the guys that done this swap. I know my alignment is way off, but my steering is way looser. I heard doing something about tightening the steering box. How do you do that? Or should I wait until its aligned? The truck sort of wanders, yes the Trac bar is installed. I know one thing, the turning radius is better. The ride is so much better. If anyone should come in contact with a D60 buy it and do the swap.
Oh yea, I have to updated my sig and should I change the badges on the truck. Hmmmmmm....Did FORD make a F350 SuperCab???
We go done around 10pm at night.

i used to have the link for the steering box slack adjustment i gotta find it cause i need it too.
i found out why mine is riding soo rough the rubber shackle bushings are frozen so the shackles arnt moving on the pins the rubber is flexing. reverse shackle may happen next weekend...
they didnt make a F350 supercab thats why i bought a F250..

i just use the toe plates for my dads sprint car. or you can have someone spin the wheel and scribe a line it in meausure front and back side and 1/8" in is what i run at. everyone around here wants $90 for an alinment cause its a 4x4......even though theres only one adjustment to make....

I tried to do the garage alignment but didn't work for me. Either it was late, brain wasn't functioning too good.
We locked the steering wheel straight with that lock that goes between the seat and the steering wheel. Had pitman arm entered, we thought. We then left the key on, first click. Took a tape measure and measures the tires, off 1/2" but don't know with way, friend had tape measure. Ah, close enought. Started to drive the truck, the steering wheel is at 1 & 7 o'clock postion. I'm just going to drop the truck off at my friend's shop, doesn't charge me.
factory supercab f-350's exist. i've seen plenty all were dually's though and 2wd. they also made regular cab f-350's. just keep lookin and you will run across one.
