Dana 60 compatibility

I might be able to get a front D60 from an 86 F350 with a 6.9. Actually I will have access to the whole truck so I can get everything from brakes, springs, steering, etc... Is this a bolt in swap for the most part on my 95 F250? I like the idea of a king pins instead of ball joints, is that the only difference?

Re: Dana 60 compatibility

Yes, just bolt it in. Brake lines may or may not have clearance issues but other than that just bolt it up make sure you use the 350 springs or go all out with an RSK and SD springs for a good ride.

Re: Dana 60 compatibility

The front of my 95 sags a little now so if the springs on the 86 were good I planned on using them, and the stock blocks from the rear.

Re: Dana 60 compatibility

Not sure what the spring rate would be on the old truck with the 6.9 but it's worth a try probably work fine.

Re: Dana 60 compatibility

teh brake lines do work with a kingpin unit , you jsut need to shave a bit off teh side of teh block to teh caliper.

They will bolt up if you do some mods..a RS kit or add SD shackels. Check the Tons of posts on the mods.
