DIY injectors

my truck is almost to 160,000 miles and i want to upgrade to bigger injectors, but i see beans has raised their price and i really dont have alot of extra cash to throw around. Im wondering if it would be a waste of money with that many miles on the injectors to use that kit or would i be better off buying a whole new set. Also how tough is that kit to do, time, and tools needed i have relpaced injectors before but never taken one apart. and also how big should i go with that kit if i do it with a stock clutch.

Re: DIY injectors

Ford_Cowboy, as Tim said, i just got done putting them in my truck. have over 1000 miles on them now. i went with the 150cc kit, as i still have a stock tranny and boy is it starting to feel it now! anyway, my injectors had 170k on them upon removal and teardown. they were all in excellent condition, and, according to Jim's write up and explanation, were in almost new condition by checking the armature clearance with a feeler guage. the whole process wasnt all that hard. just give yourself a couple of days to do them. just pay close attention to everything when taking them apart and you'll be fine. some of the necessary tools for taking the injectors out and apart: 3/8" drive ratchet/swivel/extensions/sockets, small prybar, random assortment of standard and metric allen wrenches, inch/lbs torque wrench, bench vice, torx bits, feeler guages, "dental" pics, big crescent wrench, cheater bar, and a lot of patience! feel free to email me with anymore questions. also there are a lot of pictures of the injecotrs apart in my webshots.
