I just got done doing mine. I actually overhauled some used injectors I picked up. The armature clearances were good on them. They come apart pretty easily and are not too difficult to put together. As stated I don't have the experience with the machining but I removed my old ones and may go ahead and machine those. If you look here
TikiWiki : H.E.U.I Injector Disassembly and Assembly

you will see this guys teardown and rebuild. Pretty good exept he holds the internals upside down and trys to compress them before lowering the sleeve on.
This guy
Injector Build Process pictures from trucks photos on webshots
Uses the same technique as Rosewood diesel shop, slowly lowering each internal into the sleeve.

I found it was much easier to stack the internals strting with the nozzle up to the barrel assembly .I then found a ball point pin(just the tube with pen removed) that would slide in the middle of the sleeve. Hold the sleeve upright with the pen in the middle, next grab the internals stack and balance the nozzle in the end of the pin and slowly bring the sleeve up over the internals. The rest of the parts are pretty easy.
I have not taken pictures of my process. But if you would like I can.
PM me if neccessary

That's proprietary info included in the DIY Kits.
But it's roughly not quite 1/8". Trick is some off the top, some off the bottom.

Thanks Jim
I didn't want to hand out that info because I figured it was proprietary. Even though I paid for it myself, doesn't mean I should broadcast your specifications.
