Do I need a 17* HPOP?

Let me start by thanking everybody out here for all the great information and tips. I have turned my truck into a great towing rig based on everybodys advice. I tow a 3 horse gooseneck trailer and went from downshifting and creeping along in 3rd to cruising 5th gear at 70mph and being able to accelerate if I wanted going over mountain passes. I have only set a CEL one time and that was when I put my foot into it more than I needed to messing around. I'm trying to decide if I really need one.
