Has anyone ever adapted a set of the dodge towing mirrors to the OBS trucks like ours.....been looking at the previous generation of dodge truck mirrors and think with a little faburcation it could be done and look good as well i want more width than my mirrors give me now and i dont like the looks of the califonia style towing mirrors with all the brackets seen to many tore up doors from them being snaged by things

got any pictures of what you are talking about- Im not familiar with the dodge mirrors- Im not happy with any of the ford options and would be willing to try it out
Dont have any pics but thinking about the towing mirrors like what came on the dodge trucks say around the 2001 year trucks they have a smaller mounting surface and would require making some plates or buckets that would have to weld to the doors at the vent window area for them to bolt on to. Think it could be done and look very clean the only thing i havent been able to get a used mirror yet to see if the divider between the vent windows and the door window will interfear with the line of vision it may put it right in the middle of the mirror which wouldnt work.......going to try to dig into this deeper this winter since work has slowed down with the time change.......if it works out will post some pics.....

there has been some.. they weld a metal plate over the wing window and bolt the dodge tow mirros to them but they found out that it creates a huge blind spot..
thanks for the info would love to see some pics of the set up just something i'm toying with got to do something so i can see better and dont want any uglier mirrors than i have now.......lol

Let me know what you come up with I'm really interested in doing this because I'm a sucker for those mirrors and my little paddles don't fit my large truck in my opinion.
I was considering taking some from the earlier Dodge's like 99 that have a smaller mounting "triangle" and putting them in the corner of the wind wing and maybe just mounting to a strap going vertically in front of the wind wing. That way the window would be retained and not completely covered and could still open to an extend. I don't have the money to spend on an experiment right now though. Let me know how it goes!
