Dominator 66 turbo

Just wondering if anyone knows which company makes the dominator 66 or if the only place to get it from is Beans, and if it can be found off of another vehicle

Re: Dominator 66 turbo

I could tell you, but I won't do that to Bean, he developed it and took the risk to bring it to market, he should get the business. He does tons to help us all as well .

Re: Dominator 66 turbo

Since we're talking about the D66 again, has anyone tried it with stock injectors? Mine is a CA truck......just wondering.

Re: Dominator 66 turbo

It is a stock turbo with custom modifications. It is not just a turbo off another vehicle.

Re: Dominator 66 turbo

In function it has the same effect of changing the ratio between the exhaust turbine and the compressor. Tom's 1.0 housing on the stock compressor drives the compressor harder by making the exhaust fit through a smaller "nozzle" to turn the turbine. This changes the ratio between the the two. With the d66, Bean makes the compresor wheel 6 mm bigger thus changing the ratio, but by going bigger overall. Kind of the same effect as a 1.0 on the stocker but capible of more flow. IMO anyway....

Re: Dominator 66 turbo

One way is to weld one into the compressor housing like This

ATS has one but it is a .95 housing not a 1.0 for qiucker spoolup

Be careful here....there is some science and math involved. DarthStroker is experementing with this Idea, but he has had turbo stall which can be be very destructive. There are limits. Remember the ratio idea 1.0 on stock turbo has the same "ratio" to the compressor as 1.15 on the 66 mm compressor on the D66. When you go 1.0 or .95 with the 66mm compressor, you are really overdriving the compressor. Darth is still experimenting on his set up.

Re: Dominator 66 turbo

Question is why would you want or need a wastegate on the D66? I have one with stage 2's and see no need for a wastegate.

Don't give me too hard of a time, but I am working on my PhD in math. If anyone needs some complicated math figured out, get in touch with me and I might be able to help. Then again, a lot of these exhaust problems [like what is the best shaped downpipe] are pretty complex fluid mechanics problems that no one really knows the answer to.
