Downpipe problems
Hello guys,
First I need to eat a little crow, a few months ago I had a problem starting when the engine was warm and my end conclusion was holding the key a little longer ended up doing the trick, remember ?
Well the final conclusion to this ordeal manifested itself a few days ago when my starter took a dump and I replaced it, what a difference that made. It must have been on the way out from the moment I bought it(the truck) because now it spins so fast when I turn the key that it starts immediately, cold or hot, what a relief !
Another piece of crow is in order for my opinion of the open intake and the downpipe, they did make a big difference in power, the downpipe is now causing another problem though, when the engine is nice and warm and I use the brakes to come to a stop I get this strong engine noice like an exhaust brake( I don't have one of those)The downpipe fits very tight and is still touching the engine exhaust pipe coming from the manifault and other areas on the way down.
The shop that installed the pipe spot welded the pipe parts together as an extra measure.
Any suggestions on how to solve this problem and am I on the right track with the touching pipes ?
Thanks in advance, Hans.
