downpipe rattling

anyone else have this problem?i thought it was rubbing against the tranny so last weekend i installed a strap to bring it closer to the frame rail...worked for like a day and now it rattles worse than ever! how did you guys deal with this?

I had that problem at one time. I swapped the muffler clamp for a band clamp and the problem was cured.

mine is tight against the tranny and I have no noises. My guess is you are hearing it rub on the cab? If so, you have to make a bit more clearance at the pinch weld..

Might check and see if it's rubbing on the up-pipe. If it is that you want to fix it ASAP so that it doesn't rub a whole in the up-pipe.

i am pretty sure its not the up-pipe. i can hear that stupid noise coming from the floorboards. its just brutal when i shut her off. by the way, does the tymar intake make a noise difference? mine came in the mail but i haven't gotten a chance to install it yet

You'll hear the turbo whine a lot better,along with a big whoooooosh when the truck shifts and TC locks up.
