I too would be interested in the outcome, although I don't use DP or TW tunes myself, as I have a TS chip from about 8 years ago, and it still works as good today as it did when new. I do want to send it in for some tranny shifting sequence changes though.
The one thing that has always been a bitter pill to swallow has been that DP and TW each use different types of chips, thus you can only have them upgraded by that particular individual I believe. I don't think Jody can add tunes to a Tony Wildman chip...or visa versa? Or in other words, if you like setting A & B on a TW chip, you can't also have C & D being DP tunes?
That would be the best of all worlds, but unless someone knows differently, that's what I was told.
I believe that Jody "can" upgrade my current TS chip because of the brand of chip used, but for TW settings, I'd have to put out big $$ to buy a completely different chip.
Also, a review of this type is probably interesting to many of us, but those of us that purchase chips have to realize it's best to figure out what you want the chip to do for YOU, and not necessarily go for the one that might give you 2 or 3 more HP than another.
Chip settings are a very complex issue, with many many variables, and all of us want a particular setting to do certain things for us, and if it does...then that is what makes for a good chip setting! All those that burn chips can do their best at getting the most HP outcome from your particular engine modifications, and it's all those subtle small things that makes it of good value to the customer.
As for what changes have been made over the years from all the chip manufacturers/burners...perhaps someone could explain just what those changes are? I'm sure over time they've all come across something unique to make the whole process more efficient, but it would be nice to actually know what those changes (from the past, to now) actually are...so if anyone might want to throw out some advice on what they think that is...please do so!
