E4OD swap info and cruise control

First off you guys have been great, THANKS. I'm putting an e4od in place of my 5 speed. I'm using a baumann engineering TCS ( trans control system).
The tcs uses two primary signals for shifting, VSS and TPS. Here is my problem if I use the tcs while normal driving it uses the two sensors. But if I use it while using cruise control it will think i'm coasting at speed thus reducing line pressure back to idle, not good. How does the cruise work on our powerstrokes since its drive by wire. does any one have wiring diagrams on our system.

Thanks,
Quinton

The cruise doesn't move anything on the truck. The PCM just commands the duty cycle on the injectors for whatever power it needs to maintain speed. Cruise control is just a piece of software in the PCM. The switches on the steering wheel turn it on and off and tell it what speed you want. Those are the only moving parts.

I know the cruise has nothing to do mechacically just electrically. Is there an amp in the system that sends it to pcm. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, If anyone has a diagram I will be very happy. I guess if I have to I can load a map on the tcs that will have full line pressure at idle. When i engage cruise i'll have to activate the other map. As soon as I can I'll put pics of the conversion up here.

The cruise looks at the vehicle speed and sends the appropriate duty cycle to the injectors. That's all there is.

jetfxr, I'm using a Baumann also and had to do some tricks to get the CC working. The PCM won't take over for cruise if it thinks the trans is in neutral. It's been a couple yrs but IIRC I had to install some resistors on the wires going back to the PCM that were originally hooked to the "range" switch on the trans to make it think the trans was in P/N when starting and D after that. For you it would be your clutch switch wires. The two diff res values toggle on a relay between start/run. If I just did the res for D, the truck would buck/romp when started. Anyway, I can dig through my paper work to refresh my memory, and post it up.

BTW, I love the TCS, best thing I did to the truck!

Briansshop,
Fortunately I don't have an auto trying to use the tcs. That's problem #1 gone. My truck was a manual trans trying to convert to auto. The biggest concern not so much the cruise engaging but the tcs going to zero line pressure while at speed. How if anyway do I over come that? If you can dig up how you got yours to work right that'd be awesome. Feel free to pm me.
Thanks,
Quinton

Sorry to double message. If the tcs sees my foot off the accelerator it's gonna think i'm coasting at speed thus reducing line pressure at idle, when infact the truck is pulling power at speed when cruise is engaged. I've got the base wiring all figured, the trans, the clutch pedal pos switch, range sensor, back up lights, etc. I just don't want to loose my cruise for the long hauls do to this conversion. I'm lazy. Also when all is completed and done I'll post pics of the swap. So keep your eyes open in the modified section in a bit for how I did it.

So you don't have it working yet, you're just thinking ahead? Do you actually have this prob or think you might? Just trying to understand. I have never had any probs w/CC and line press. I'm thinking that if you were pulling a load while using CC you could adj the table and be OK.
