Edge evo and tranny shifting

I just picked up an edge evo and had the tranny redone last week. Now i seem to get a funny 2-3 shift in all the programs, almost like its confused i guess would be the best way to put it. Is this just how its gonna be with the edge, or do i have other problems? Also whats the average tranny temp for the e4od? Thanks.

Re: Edge evo and tranny shifting

the edje evo does raise the line pressure in the trans. it made mine shift a little harder. the temps should be about 80 degrees above the out side temp to the best of my knowlege.

Re: Edge evo and tranny shifting

If you don't like the way the tranny shifts with the EVO just call them up and get a return authorization and send it to them for removal of the tranny shift enhancement part of the programming. They do it for free and turn around time is pretty fast. Before you send it back you'll have to reprogram your truck back to stock.

my trans has allways had the "confused" way of shifting into second-third when i got it,it was bone stock 160K on it and dont know if the trans ever had work on it.

when i got the evo and programed it into my truck,i did notice better harder shifts, but with in a week the truck now slams VERY hard into thrid gear unless i let of the peddle a bit.

as for the temps,i live in FL. and a hot 93 degree day if i just drive slowly the temp for the trany will get to 190 some days,at night it stays around 160-170,and when i blast it hard, day or night i have seen it go 215

Press. gets to 28 i think?i have not driven the thing in over a week so...

Re: Edge evo and tranny shifting

If you are running the stock cooler those temps would be about normal. When I had my 97 I had to install the biggest auxiliary cooler on the market to keep my temps down below 220* when towing my 32' trailer. After the cooler install I never saw above 195* on the hottest of days. I towed the trailer with the truck stock for 2 years before I installed the aux cooler and guages so how hot the tranny got during those years still gives me the creeps considering the stock cooler wouldn't keep cool an auto tranny on a Honda Civic.
