Which Electric Fans Worked..???

Hey Guys,

I need to work on my fan and would like to go ahead and put on electric fans. I was wondering what fans had worked for everyone.
If you guys could post what fans, models, part numbers, or what it came off of. Then we could make a list of electric fans and possibly add it to the parts list so it is always available. So if you guys that have done the electric fans could let us know what you have used and we make a list I would appreciate it.

Upon installing two 16" fans, have you noticed any cooling changes in comparison to your stock mechanical fan? also what were them fans off of?

Re: Which Electric Fans Worked..???

I just bought a set of S blade cooler fans, used some alum angle and made a bracket for it, I then used a temp sender a relay for it, they work really well, unloaded anyways. Long trip planned next week in the heat so we can try that out. with the new injectors I can heat it up really, really fast.

Re: Which Electric Fans Worked..???

FWIW, several have tried electric fans and while they may have worked for an unloaded truck in hot weather...none have worked when pulling a heavy load and while working the truck in hot weather. It would be great to find a setup that did work (short of the $500 US Gear fan clutch that is no longer available) as I would like the extra horsepower in the summer.

Re: Which Electric Fans Worked..???

mine seems to work really well, truck weighed in at 8500lbs, scaled it actually. hot as hell too 100+*, very mountainous here in BC too, teh engine stayed one letter above where it usually sits haulign up hills the pyro hit 1600+ once racign a Honda up a hill, those new injectors really haul ass.
So far I like them but no IC yet and no heavy haulign yet either, but they blow lots of air sittign still.

Re: Which Electric Fans Worked..???

as I recall one Gent here found that '95 ford windstar minivan fan / shroud set up worked great and fit great in the truck.

I think it's all personal preference, if you haul heavy a lot, best to keep the stocker in there.
