Re: electric fuel pump ??

You might send a pm to rsp on this site, he has a pretty nice SD fuel system upgrade. I'm sure others will chime in as well.

Re: electric fuel pump ??

I have a sd pump on my daily driver for 21k now. I have a line coming out of the factory selector, that runs into a water seperator pre filter. it then goes to the sd pump then a fuel filter. Then back into the factory line up to the engine. The factory fuel bowl is removed i have a t off the feed line on the engine to the back of both heads. The factory return lines (that went from the front of the heads to the factory regulator) now goes into an aeromotive regulator mounted to the back of the oil resivoir. then the return goes back to the factory return on the engine.

This is not a hi po system. I would say it is good to around 425 give or take, but is definatly better then the factory junk

hope this helps a lil

Re: electric fuel pump ??

ive got a electric setup on my truck and its much better and im running a dahl150 for a filter and its great.

bean has a really good electric setup also.

if you build the setup yourself i spent about $700 for the SD pump, aeromotive reg, dahl 150, stainless head lines, new fuel pickup parts, and all the other little parts you will need add up fast

Re: electric fuel pump ??

tubbz made about 452 HP with a single SD electric pump. I think that is about maxed out because all three of his chip settings made between 450-452 HP. His fuel system is from BDP. I am sure the system from RSP is a good choice also.

Re: electric fuel pump ??

I made my own fuel system. I kinda took a different approach and ended up doing the whole thing from a single bronco tank to the 5/8" stainless pickup tube to the twin ele pumps and then 2ea 1/2" lines, 1 for each head. With this setup at idle I will return 1 1/2 gallons of diesel to the tank per minute while maintaining 70psi of fuel pressure. I haven’t installed my electric fuel pressure gauge in the cab yet so I can't verify what my PSI is a WOT.
I have a few pic’s in my sig.
Good luck.

Are you sure that is enough?
You must have 1/8" nozzles
Or maybe the cold temps make the fuel thicker way up there!!

I come out of the selector valve into my filters mounted on the left side of the truck (2 micron filtration). Then into my S/D pump. ran new 3/8" high pressure rubber fuel line up into the engine compartment. Y'd off into the front of the heads. Returning from the back of the heads. The engine fuel lines are all 5/16" teflon, for the heat around the Turbo area. I'm running an Aeromotive fuel regulator with 70 psi at idle. I wish I'd done it sooner. Keep us posted on your results. Carl
