Electric fuel system differences

Does anyone know what the differences are, if any, between BDP and Swamps electric fuel systems for the OBS trucks? My truck has BDP stage 1 injectors. I know the BDP system is good for stage two's, but I don't know anything about the Swamp kit.

Re: Electric fuel system differences

I can't tell you the difference between the two, but I can tell you how good BDP pump is as I just installed one. Truck runs significantly better with the electric pump, smoother idle, better throttle response, and no more leaks in the engine valley, aloha.

Re: Electric fuel system differences

watermanh, does the truck seems faster? how long did it take to install? was it difficult? would you say its worth the $1000? i wonder if its a worthwhile mod for just stock injectors or just easier/cheaper to fix the mechanical pump as it breaks/leaks. i am pretty close to pullin the trigger on this mod myself. thanks

Re: Electric fuel system differences

My truck runs a bit faster in the quarter with the only change being the fuel system. You might want to give BDP a call on it.

Not sure of the difference, but when I originally posted this, Swamps system was $750. It was alot cheaper than the BDP system, that's why I was asking about differences. Now the Swamps setup is $900.

Re: Electric fuel system differences

I installed the Bean system on my truck.

The quality of Beans system is excellent and after talking with Beans during the install I am confident that if something were to go wrong BEAN would stand behind his product.

I am not so sure others would be so fast to back up their product.

Re: Electric fuel system differences

Thegreg92,
Yes the truck does seem to run faster/better. Installation took 5 days @ 3hrs per day after work. Should have been quicker but I had problems with a fitting that is supplied for the drivers side head. Bean says this fitting is only for 97 models. In the end I used the stock fitting and location for this location. Definitely worth the money. I have a CA model thus changing the fuel pump is a real PITA, thus when my 2nd pump only lasted 35K I decided I was not going to do this again, aloha.

I too am very happy with the support I have gotten from Bean. He showed extreme patience with me when I was telling him that my chip wasn't working. He kept telling me that I didn't have the PCM clean enough, when it looked clean to me. I was sure I had a faulty chip. Sure enough, after a super thorough job, I haven't had a problem since and that's been over a year. I don't know anything about Swamps, it's just that with the kit they offer it initially was quite a bit cheaper than Beans. Now I think I'll just stick with getting Beans setup.

Re: Electric fuel system differences

Bean's fuel system does use a Super Duty pump. I have had Bean's fuel system for almost 2 years with no problems. The kit is very well made and put together.
