Exhaust muffler install

I put on an AFE big bore system on my truck and installed the muffler (straight through design) with the little vents toward the back of the truck. I do not have a cat and the exhaust seems really quiet.
I assumed You want the muffler with the restrictions aimed to the rear. I think my stock with a 3" DP was louder.
Any thoughts?

Re: Exhaust muffler install

Yea,I think it would be even quieter w/the louvers facing forward.I tried my 5" w/a muff & w/out,like it much better w/out.

Re: Exhaust muffler install

I guess I got used to straight piped without cat and muffler and now it whistles but not the roar.
I have to have the muffler though with an inspection coming up.
