hey everybody, i am looking for ya'lls info on what i can do to my exhuast system for less resriction and litle more noise. I am running an edge EZ and i just installed a diy tymar tpe air intake system. really brought that turbo into the cab! seems to spool up a little quicker too... would like to run straight pipe and dump in front of the tire. good? bad? what do ya say?
problem with it dumoing in front of the tire is the wheel is gonna get black after a while from the soot that gets expelled through the exhaust.
you'd prolly be best to leave your system as is but cut the muffler/cat out. that right there will help ya.
i run a tymar 3-4" DP down to 4.5" straight pipe all the way to just behind the rear axle. then i welded a 5" 90* elbow used on a Peterbuilt tractor trailer. i love it, quiet in the cab with windows up, ricers can't hear there bass when i spool up, and she keeps her EGT's nice and low even when towing
Take a look at the MBRP systems, they are available in aluminized and stainless. The down pipe is 3 inches and then at 22 inches from the turbo it changes to 4.0 inches. This is the fastest transition I know of to get to 4.0 inches as fast as possible. Otherwise you'll have to really really modify the firewall. Call us if you have any questions etc.

Hey man I would definetly run the straight pipe out in front of the rear tire! It sounds sweet but make sure you run 5 in. Here's a pic custom exhaust

What's it like to be 16 and love diesels...Well just ask all my friends with rice grinders that can't keep up. Oh and be able to out talk your shop teacher and basically teach the diesel part of our High School....Oh yea......
I really like the kit I just got from T&J Performance on E-bay.
3" dp, 3.5" around the corner, the 4" the rest of the way.
Can't beat their price, and it is actually an AFE kit.
