Two questions does running off road diesel hurt anything? And do I need to run a fuel additive to keep the fuel system clean?

I meant just like in one tank for off road or do they test the tanks?

The trouble running off road fuel is that you never know when you will pull up to a sign that says "ALL DIESEL POWERED VEHICLES MUST EXIT". I was dipped twice in six months a couple of years ago and not since. A buddy has been dipped a couple of times in the last year. So is it worth it? If you really need to then go ahead and run it. It won't hurt the truck any, but in my opinion don't make a habit of it.

The only difference in off-road fuel nowadays is the dye and the lack of highway tax. The off-highway equipment has also met strict air pollution standards and the fuel is a big part of it.
The only thing it will hurt is your wallet if you get caught.
You need to be aware of the fact that it takes a LONG TIME for the dye to clear out of your tanks. One tank of off-road will make you vulnerable to a fine for many tanks to follow.
