I believe that all the mod does is replace the 94-97 fuel bowl heater with the one from the 99+'s. There are a couple of things that need to be done with the OBS bowl but I do not remember just what they were.
You have to grind some boss off inside the bowl to fit the newer heater. That stopped me because I don't care to grind my bowl. After 2 failures of the original type, I just removed mine. Even at 10 below have had no problems. If you live in Texas for sure you don't even need the heater.

1997 F350CC, 4x4, PSD Tipper pro kleenex open filter. Roggen 6" lift kit with 26" ratflex 12" offset tires. Downpipe cut and welded to adapt 3" into a 12" outlet. 12" muffler cut and adapted to 2", then a special turbo manifold from a volkswagon modified to flank out to 3" to the tail pipe. Interior from a Corvair modified by cutting 6" off the padding. Snize and snide 32gallon aux tank mounted in rear seat, rear seat relocated to bed. Bed shortened to 4ft.

I did mine without any mods. a little tricky getting it to lay right and get the wire hooked but it does fit!
