fuel tanks

I have a question, about our fuel tanks. Is the plate that holds the pick up and return lines steel or pastic or some other material? TIA, Carl.

I think it's steel.

Re: fuel tanks

Thanks, here my next question. Has anyone changed to a universal pick up and put an "AN" fitting in? I really don't want to sump my tanks. TIA, Carl.

Re: fuel tanks

We drill a big hole in the plate and put in a 5/8" JIC (-10AN) bulkhead fitting and pickup tube on our fuel systems, and then we plug off the factory return line and use the supply line for the return.
