Gear ration and Lift questions

If I wanted to lift my truck a couple more inches to fit 38" would I be better off with a suspension lift or a body lift? Should I buy new springs or should I do a shackle lift?
What is the best gearing for me to use with 38" tires? I like speed and I'm not a big fan of rock-crawling, so whats the best ration?
I remember seeing a chart that delt with the tire size and gear ration a while ago, I just cant find it again.
Thanks

Re: Gear ration and Lift questions

You can pull the 38s w/your 4.10s,but you'd prob like some 4.56s or some 4.88s better.I ran 4.10s for a few yrs,and just changed out to 4.88s.If I did it again I'd go for 4.56s.Randys Ring and Pinion has a ratio chart on their site.I'm not a fan of body lifts but that's just my opinion.

Re: Gear ration and Lift questions

I'd also go with 4.56 w/38's. Are you planning to swap in a D60 into your F250? You'll need a 6" lift and probably cut out fender flares to fit 38's with your current TTB D50 front. I think the best setup would be some 4" lift springs combined with a shackle reversal and a D60 in the front, then some custom lift springs on the back to eliminate the tall lift blocks.

Re: Gear ration and Lift questions

My fender flares have already been cut out, I already have 4" lift springs in the front, So wheres a good place to just go out and buy 4 leaf spring packs? I'm either going to swap out a d60 or d44, cause the 44's are way cheaper, and i dont really do rock crawling.

Re: Gear ration and Lift questions

a 44 will not hold up with out spending D60 money on it, so jsut go with the D60, that added to your current 4" lift will be fine.
