Ok guys due to all the inquires (pm's) and e-mails I've recieved about what has transpired since the last thread here goes. There has been no response from the Swamps camp in any way.(still have pump was kinda afraid if sent back it would disappear)The hose in question has been checked out by more than one reputable hydralic person or persons and they all come up with pretty much the same responses here are some of them, hose was not of proper rating when it came to the oil heat issue, the crimp was not done proper and was doubtful it was done by an hydralic house, hose elbows were not of proper size, according to them the fitting's should have split or broke before the hose ever attempted to pull from the crimp. Also as you will see in the pictures (to be posted) the hose let go on the bottom crimp, according to the experts (not me) any hydralic line style high pressure crimp (connection) should completly rip the connecting hose(crimp should encompass the entire hose) if crimped properly.hose showed no signs of misaligment or kinking of any type.Hope this answers most of your questions.I would like to take this time to thank all of you who have helped me through out the years both you shade tree boys and professional,s you guys are top notch.I'll check in on you all once in a while. Well, I have seen the hose personally and it is not the proper hose. But even worse, one of the crimp fittings is wrong. It's too small. Doesn't matter if the hose was bent or straight, it would have NEVER held to the damands of Big Oil.
More details later.

i remember reading about your truck before i joined the site.i was kinda wondering what had caused that hose to blow and burn your truck.it seems that the person in that thread that kept saying that the hose itself not installer error was the cause of the fire was right.although everybody kept saying he was wrong.i dont remember who it was and im too lazy to look for that thread but i think some of the guys here owe him an apology.he defended his stance on this subject till the thread was locked.everything he said made perfect sence to me,i cant figure out why the other guys had to argue with him over it. Back in 2002 I had Masthead Hose & Supply (who has locations in FL, GA, AL, SC, TX, IN) make me a HX hose with the proper hose and fittings and it worked great for about a week. Then while getting on I-295 in Jacksonville, FL one of the ends blew out of the fitting, spraying oil all over the engine compartment and shutting the truck down because of the oil loss and thankfully no fire. But do you think I should of sued Masthead? I went back to them and they apologized and made me a new one that has worked ever since. (They used the same hose and put on a new fitting.)
My point is stuff happens and nobody always knows the reason why. That is not the only Gen 3 pump Swamps has sold, but seems to be the only one that I have heard of doing this.
I'm am truly sorry for Magum 97 loss, but we all know that when we start modding things on our trucks there is always a chance of something going wrong.
