Re: GTS exhaust brake

I didn't know he had one either. Probably just an electric one that utilizes the EBPV just like the SP Diesel one does.

I have the SP Diesel one and have used it religiously for about 4 years. And, I think it's one of the top three most important mods I've done to my truck. Makes a HUGE difference in slowing from hwy speeds to around 20mph. I recommend it whole heartidly. Also, my front pads last about 50,000 miles or so. Has to be because of the brake.

Don't order anything from GTS before contacting him directly first. I heard that someone was having trouble locating him after purchase. I sent him an email question a week ago and he hasn't responded.

Good vendor so far, but who knows what's going on at the moment with him.

Re: GTS exhaust brake

A true exhaust brake is expesive. Air or electric operated can run over a grand. Not sure that is worth it. they are cool though, looked at one a guy had on an F450 dually. He also had a true air suspension rearend, about 4 grand worth! Makes hooking up hi 5er a peice of cake, drive under it and raise the truck!

Re: GTS exhaust brake

I have the SP Diesel exhaust brake that utilizes the EBPV as well, and my wife figures it's the best mod I have.
As Travis says, it sure works slick, and I too have had mine for 4 years or more now.

Re: GTS exhaust brake

I asked him about this awhile back and he said because he couldn't find the right connectors to make it the way he wanted he quit makeing them. It was just a wire harness that uses the stock EBPV as a brake.

Edit: I just heard from GTS. He is having trouble with his email service and has been way behind on responding to emails because of it. Still a vendor, still selling and shipping product. Still a reliable source for parts.

He told me the same thing. He no longer sells the wiring kit.

Re: GTS exhaust brake

I bought his brake a few years ago ( when he was still on the forum ), it works like any of the EPBV brakes. His was nice and clean, the wiring plugged right into the ford harness so there was cutting in the factory wiring... still works for me. BP.
