I finally had a chance to start putting in the 6.0 intercooler today and got the holes cut and got to the part were you have to put on the 2 bottom braces that slide into the side of the intercooler, but when I do that the braces end out being about 1 inch away from the holes i drilled in the sheetmetal because the intercooler is hitting the a/c condensor.I tried pushing the intercooler as tight as I can get it but still no luck.Am I missing somthing here? I think you got something wrong. The IC goes in front of the 1/4" flat metal that attaches to the hood latch. Did you remember to flatten out the bottom AC condenser brackets on both sides? Go to my pics and there are some shots of the install. Some of pics show the lower IC brackets. I had to space out the lower IC brackets by doubling up two 3/8 washers. IC was rubbing the hood latch support bar.

Have you flattened the lower A/C mounts for clearance? Sounds like that's where your trouble is.

Thats what it is.Now to go finish it up.What do you do with the trans cooler?Where does that fit?I have a tru cool 4739 and it doesnt look like its gonna fit anywere.
97, I really would like to think about what you need to do to fix your problem....but gnxtc2's avatar keeps me from thinking about one of our old rattlen trucks.... "hello my dear, how are the three of you doing?"
I used some round hayden zip ties that poke through from the back side of the intercooler to fasten the trans cooler. Found them at NAPA, sorry no part #.
I think I've installed one kit with that cooler. Seems as I recall I had to make a couple of brackets and put it where the stock one was. I think I had to trim some of the black plastic piece to get it to fit right.
