Guage Power

Well I am sure some of you have done this but I am ordering guages here soon and was going to power the guages from the same source that powers the stock guage cluster lights so they all come on together, where would I tie in at? Would I have to run a relay due to an overload? Thanks.

Re: Guage Power

I just used a fuse tap off of the fuse for the instrument cluster.

No issues with blown fues for me.

Most of the guages come with some instructions for install.

Tim

You know I was wrong I did the wire tap into the lights too, must have been thinking of something else.

Re: Guage Power

I tied mine into the gauge lights, by tapping into the wire that goes into the headlight switch(I believe it is a white wire with a blue strip). With the gauge lights hooked to this wire it allows me to dim the gauge lights when I turn the headlight knob to dim the gauge lights. If no one else chimes in I can look and make sure tonight when I get home. Hope this helps.

Thats EXACTLY what I was looking to do because I wanted to be able to dim them as well, do you pull the big dash panel to get in there? Yeah if you could let me know what what color the wire is that would be great!
