H2 Rims & Tires on a 97 F350?

I know, no self respecting Ford guy would ever consider using any GM parts, BUT...

I just had a blowout and am finding it impossible to get any BFG AT's in 35x12.5x16.5.

I keep seeing H2 rim & tire takeoffs everywhere...CHEAP.

I know they use an 8 on 6.5 bolt pattern, but will my lug nuts seat properly on H2 rims? Do they use washers?

Has anyone ever test fitted these on an OBS truck? Will they work?

Thanks!

Some one has them on their truck on this board, they have pics of it.

The only thing is the H2 rims use like a 5.5" or 6" bs, and with large tires they will probably rub the springs.

I'm pretty sure that it's SlopeTruck that has the H2 wheels.
Aren't the center holes on the H2's a bit smaller than our hubs and have to be opened up a bit with a carbide burr.

Lotek, I'm so disappointed that you're ruining my future truck with Hummer tires.

That's a former Arizona truck and it needs to come back home. I'll make room for it.

Upstate? My future truck will never be seen in New York State again (unless I'm drivin') and will never see snow or road salt again.

they definitely need opened up. i used a mill with and adjustable boring head to do a set. i think it was easier than a lathe.

Re: H2 Rims & Tires on a 97 F350?

I got mine before the price jumped on them. Cost me as much to ship them to AK from NV as it did to buy them, still was cheaper then 4 new tires locally.

Yes they fit if you open up the center hole 1/4" all the way around (I'm cheap and used a wood rasp, by hand!)

The backspacing is too much (5" I think.) I spaced them out 1/2" on each side (so effectivly 4.5" backspacing) and they will still barely rub on full crank. Tuck under the fenders nicely do don't throw as much on the body. I cut out the center caps too so they still fit on the rim and keep my lugs cleaner.

Much better looking/riding combo then the old 16.5" steel spokes w/ 4" of backspacing I used to run. (Though I do like the look of the mudders hanging out of the fenders, but that's what my play truck is for...)

Re: H2 Rims & Tires on a 97 F350?

Thanks for all the info fellas.

I keep forgetting about that damn back spacing issue. Too much trouble to run spacers and bore out the center hole.

I think I may have found a BFG and a matching rim. If so, I'll be outta the woods for a year or so, then figure out what to do.

Richard, good to see you are still here. Are you still running veg oil? Come to LA and buy this damn truck from me, will ya?

BlueMule, How did you know the truck came from AZ? Do you know Kevin B?

I just remember from years ago when you were in NY that you had mentioned that it was from AZ.
