H2E Drivability Questions ???

How does the turbo act driving with lower hp programs, such as everyday driving that does not involve racing around? I am getting ready to install a hybrid S300 switzer turbo and i want to make sure i can still drive it as a reliable commuter pickup as well as hammering down on the go pedal once in a while.

Re: H2E Drivability Questions ???

Stevo,

Luke Cline will correct me if im wrong, but he told me here a few days ago after he got his H2E on that his CARB(tow) setting would not hardly spool the h2e near as quick as the bigger fuel settings.

Re: H2E Drivability Questions ???

I understand it will lag like crazy on low power but i can deal with that .So the truck will basically act like a natural aspriated truck on low power setting. This truck runs like a turd with no turbo, i popped a intercooler boot and had to drive 15 miles or so to the shop one time. The turbo i have has a almost exact turbo map as the h2e and it will be modded to be exact ar maybe a hair better. The turbo is a switzer off a 8.1L deere.

Cary,
You use your old flanges and bolts/nuts.
Tip: Get a wire wheel (medium) for your bench grinder. Soak all your fasteners in laqure thinner for a while, dry them then take them to the wire wheel and clean them up real good. Makes reassembly a lot easier since some of them you can only get to with one finger!
Replace any fastener that the shoulders are rounded off on!
You will also have to buy new up pipe donuts.
Make sure you have a rust breaking penatrent on hand like PB blaster.
Save your old up pipes if they are in good condition.
If you want to make the drive, I will put it on for your stock turbo.

Re: H2E Drivability Questions ???

You definetely need the bigger air with your setup steve! That new turbo set up sounds sweet! I wonder in your lower settings with the bigger turbo if you would smoke all the time due to turbo not spooling up? Keep us updated on your progress, and I'll be up for a ride!! the carb and other light tow programs will NOT spool the h2. The only tow program that will spool the h2 is "Tony's custom tow". I just had bills early extreme put on for a tow/ fuel mileage program, it wont even spool it. the most boost ive seen with the light tows and the Bills early extreme is 12-15lbs boost and i loose speed up hills with an empty trailer.
