H2E Supporting Mods

What would they be? Say hypothetically you were building an engine on a stand and you wanted the thing to be reliable and hold together with an H2E mounted to it - what would it take?

I am not looking for all out horsepower. I am looking for 3-400 reliable horsepower at the wheels. I asked a similar question before and need to put together a grocery list of parts. Need to start getting pricing and piecing it together. I don't have a lot of time to call shops during the day so it is making it difficult to get information.

turbo, mounting kit, injectors, chip, intercooler, fuel system, studs, springs, tranny work,

your post said 3-400....thats a pretty wide spread both in power and what it costs, and what it takes to make it live....are you wanting 300 or wanting 400?

a d66, stage2's, and all the rest of the stuff mentioned will make a reliable 380-400hp without the trouble of trying to mount an H2E...I know there are some concerns about the d66 shaft, but alot of folks are using it with stage 2's with little or no problem, I actually have about 15K or so on mine with detuned 3's with no problem,,,but its your truck, if you want to mount the H2E go for it, just offering an easier way to 400

as an afterthought, it seemed to me, that my checkbook seemed to take about a 5K hit for every 100hp added, so plan wisely, and decide what your actually shooting for LOL!!!!

Sorry forgot some key details.

I already have the following big oil, injectors, turbo without mounting kit, intercooler, dp-tuner, and electric fuel system. All of these are on order, on truck, or sitting on the floor in the garage. I don't know how much horsepower the combo will make - I would guess between 350-450.

The list I have so far is:

Head Studs
Springs
P-Rods
Motor Mounts

what injectors do you have?

also, i would recommend going ahead and installing head studs and springs while the motor is on the stand. you may noy HAVE to have them at the 400 hp level, but its better to have them and not necessarily need them than to need them and not have them. its good for peace of mind if nothing else.

IMHO, it sounds like you're on the right track so far. -marty

Hybrids.

The studs I think are a must for me (peace of mind). Springs are cheap insurance. I guess that is what I am looking for. Like motor mounts, not really necessary, but cheap and easy to do with engine out. Anything else? I just don't want to miss something small (I have the big 4 figured out (turbo, injector, big oil, tranny)).

If my engine was hanging on a stand I'd go ahead and replace the oil rail end plugs in the heads and rering the oil cooler.
