Has anyone ruined their EO4D with bigger injectors?

I have stage 1's and after this w/e I'll have stage 2's. When I got my 1's everyone was telling me I'll be needing a new tranny soon. Well after almost a year everythings fine; granted I don't get on it all the time. Anyways was thinking of getting a triple converter just for prevention but has anyone really burnt thiers up from the bigger injectors we're puttin in. There are tons of ppl doing injectors and I see more post wanting more power then "tranny blew up this weekend".

Just seeing if anyone had any bad experiences with thier tranny after adding power.

A good converter and properly tuned vb for the power will prolong it, but it will die sooner or later, the bigger the injector, the sooner.

Re: Has anyone ruined their EO4D with bigger injectors?

I broke mine with stock injectors and a programmer set on performance tow. What made it so bad was the truck only had 130 thousand miles and hardly any hot rodding and an occasional tow. When they are ready to give up they just give up.You have been really lucky.Better start getting ready for a good rebuild and convertor. Re: Has anyone ruined their EO4D with bigger injectors?

E4OD's break with stock truck with low mileage so yes stage 1's will take out a tranny. like stated a good torque converter and valve body will help alot with any truck and any mods.

I haven't killed my tranny yet. However I hope my tax amendment gets here soon. This tranny has around 8k on it and I can make it slip at 65.

Your e4od was in good shape before the stage 1's--no doubt.

8K is a short life. Were those other builds exchanges or all on your original?

Re: Has anyone ruined their EO4D with bigger injectors?

well I have had stage II's for 2 years on a tranny with over 200K miles on it. the key is not having a chip and keeping your foot out of it. lol, cant afford a bts tranny yet.

Re: Has anyone ruined their EO4D with bigger injectors?

I got 165k on mine with a valve body I modded and a TCI convertor (20K on it) and it is still doing fine............for now at least.look at my sig to get a idea of what it has been through.I also only weigh in at 6700lbs.That helps also.

Re: Has anyone ruined their EO4D with bigger injectors?

Yup, I did .

Previous truck 97 psd 4by4 . I installed BDP stage I's and a built tq convertor. Had a wildman 4pos w/ race on it. Got 350 or 400 miles on it and snapped a band. Getting on it hard the trans would shift like a buick, total slushbox, not good. That was with the sonnax valve and tri-springs, too. Jon F. set me up with some tranny goodies after that and it worked great.

Glad I only have a clutch to worry about now

Re: Has anyone ruined their EO4D with bigger injectors?

Mine has lasted almost a year and 15k miles with my II's! I've strapped it to the dyno for 4 runs, and I towed our tractor on my Dad's trailer last weekend!

The key is how you drive it, I go foot to the floor alot, but only in certain programs and usually only once it's in OD. I'm treating her like a lady until my BTS can go in, then I'm really gonna have some fun........
