Heater hose/water filter?

Well moter is in trany and transfer case is in I threw away my old heater hoses(that was dumb) They wer junk i saved the t fitting just forgot the routing also installing a water filter can any body tell me wich way the water flowes? does it come out the top of the water pump to the heater core out of the core to the fitting on the head with the tee fitting on this line with the 1/2"line going to the bottom of the raditator??? The one coming off right head is heater core inlet, it tees down to bottom of rad. The one coming out of water pump is return.
I think the one closest to driver is return (coming out of heater core on firewall) Maybe someone will post some pics. I can look to verify, and post tommorow if nobody else chimes in before then.
