Does anybody have part numbers for this vacuum operation control valve to prevent coolant flow to the heater core? How well does it work? Where do you plumb in for the vacuum? Need to do something as summer is coming quick!
Thanks,
Travis

Hit the Baz's site for that information. I am wanting to do that mod my self this summer. Ford makes a pretty good air and it would really be much better if it did not have to overcome the heater core on a 98 deg Oklahoma day.

I got my valve off ebay, there's a guy always selling them for ranger / aerostar...
Honestly I'm still not sure if i have it hooked up right, I've not tapped into a vacuum line, I think it's supposed to be the blue one under the dash....

BAZ's site says to tap into the white one under the hood that operates the door control on top of the HVAC box.

Use the white vac line on the outside. It works perfectly

I re-read BAZ's site and it said the white vacuum line under the hood only shuts off coolant flow in the OFF and MAX A/C positions. That is good, but I really want it off in the vent position too. Anybody know how to do that? Is that maybe what the blue line under the dash does?

Travis HERE is the guy on ebay that sells the valves, sometimes he has them listed as ranger, explorer or aerostar valves but htey are all the same and he apparently has a never ending supply of them. I got mine from him 3 summers ago and everytime I look at his store he has some listed. There are a few pics of my installed valve in THIS album. I used the white line and it only shuts of the water in the "max ac" and "off"position. I do believe the blue line in the cab is the one you want in order to shut it off in "vent" Right now I have to go out and work on the car before it gets dark but when I get back in I'll take a look at the EVTM and let you know for sure.
You did pretty good, especially since you did it from memory. And I know you've got an EVTM, and its red, I know cuz I got your blue one.
Thanks! The blue vacuum line will work better for me then. I do want to be able to use vent more than I do now (never). Is this blue line easy to find under the dash, and is there only one? It's been raining outside and I can't go look.
