Help where to put tank heater into heater hose
I have a tank heater, think Kats or any other heater hose tank heater. Mine is a Kim Hotstart 2000 Watt but they all hook up the same.
They call it thermosiphon
Mine is horizontal but it could be stood up vertical as long as the "out" is up and below the water level both bottom and top.
The 1/4 inch drive coolant drain plug on the side of the block by the oil filter, I'm using the one on the drivers side if that's ok to the "in" on the tank heater and then the heater hose for the "out" "hot" from the tank heater.
I have a 1996 E350 Van and a good place to get to the heater hoses is from the inside drivers side with the doghouse removed.
There are two nice heater hose lines right there where I can get at them and complete my hookup. They are going to and coming from the auxiliary heater core in the side panel drivers side about 2/3 of the way back in the van.
The feed to this heater core comes directly off from the water pump and then circultates right back forward from this rear heater core and goes to the front heater core under the hood passenger side, and then from there the front return heater hose goes back into the engine I think.
I can't figure out which one of the two heater hoses, going and coming from the rear heater core to hook into.
Can anybody help please. Thank You
